As Thailand is currently in a period of national mourning after the passing of the beloved monarch His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the organizing committee of BDMS Bangkok Marathon 2016 has come to agreement to postpone the race event from its original date of November 20, 2016, to February 5, 2017. The new race venue is Utthayan Road, known as one of the most beautiful avenues in Thailand, and the main route is Barommaratchachonnani Elevated Highway.
Due to warmer weather expected in February, the revised race times are as following:
- Marathon (42.195 km.) starts at 00.00 hr. (Midnight) and ends at 06.00 hr.
- Half Marathon (21.100 km.) starts at 02.00 hr. and ends at 05.30 hr.
- Mini Marathon (10 km.) starts at 05.00 hr. and ends at 06.30 hr.
The original rules, regulations, and awards in all categories still apply. A new race route and map will be announced soon.
The race kit collection (Marathon Expo) will be held at the original location, Airport Link Sky Train, Makkasan Station, Floor 2, during February 2 – 4, 2017, 09.00 – 18.00 hrs.
We must apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
As BDMS Bangkok Marathon 2016 is moved to Sunday, February 5, 2017, the organizing committee would like to offer a registration deferral to runners who cannot participate in this new race date. Without any additional fees, the runners are able to defer their registration to BDMS Bangkok Marathon 2017 scheduled on Sunday, November 19, 2017. The request for deferral can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than November 30, 2016. Please note that, by making a deferral request, you will receive a bib number, race T-shirt, and medal of BDMS Bangkok Marathon 2017. Any request after the deadline will not be considered and will result in loss of entry.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
